The Peace Pole Project

THE PEACE POLE PROJECT is an initiative that plants poles in various locations around the world inscribed with the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in different languages. It's a symbolic and physical manifestation of the quest for world peace.

Peace Poles can be found in cities, towns, schools, churches, parks, and various public spaces worldwide. They are often planted during special ceremonies that involve the community and can sometimes be personalized with additional messages of peace.

Beginning in Japan in 1955, the peace pole movement has since seen over 250,000 Peace Poles planted globally. The project promotes the idea of peace transcending all boundaries of race, religion, gender, nationality, and ideology. Rocky Point Rotary leads the Corridor of Peace Project in New York on Long Island's North Shore and is the second Rotary Club in the world to be designated a City of Peace by the International Cities of Peace movement.
