On Thursday, September 24, 2015 members of the Rocky Point Rotary Club gathered at the Veterans Place in Yaphank to dedicate the Veterans Mulitimedia Library.  The library, constructed and stocked in August of this year by Rocky Point Rotarians as well as Rocky Point resident Mrs. Kathi Heggers, was dedicated in memory of Thomas Cutinella, a Shoreham-Wading River student and staunch supporter of services for U.S. Veterans, who passed away last year.  This dedication was made even more special by the presence of Mrs. Kelly Cutinella, Thomas’ mother, who spoke of Thomas, his generosity toward others and his commitment to seeing that the needs of military veterans are addressed by society.

Additional comments regarding the library and Rocky Point Rotary’s commitment to maintaining and expanding the library were provided by Rocky Point Rotarian Ann Marie Roberts.  Rotarian and Superintendent of Rocky Point Schools, Dr. Michael Ring,  spoke of the generosity of Rocky Point residents Kathi and John Heggers who raised funds in Thomas’ memory which were subsequently donated to the Rocky Point Rotary Club in support of this effort.

The dedication ceremony concluded with a brief prayer offered by Rotarian Forrest Dunbar.  Following the dedication, lunch was provided to residents of the Veterans, courtesy of Mrs. Kathi Heggers and the Rocky Point Rotary Club.
