On Tuesday, February 14, the Rocky Point Rotary Club welcomed guest speakers from The Brick Studio who spoke passionately about their kick starter campaign.  The goal of the campaign is to raise $18,000 to bring a cooperative art education center and gallery in downtown Rocky Point on Broadway.  The link to the kick starter site is  The speakers--Dr. Charles Bevington and Julia Vogelle--asked the Rotary membership to join them in their efforts to raise money by donating to the campaign to bring arts and education to downtown Rocky Point.
About the Project: The Brick Studio & Gallery is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art collective organization located in Rocky Point. Their goal is to connect artists through a cooperative art education center and gallery dedicated to showcasing the art of their members and faculty.  The goal at the Brick Studio is to build momentum, grow, and develop our space to include and engage artists from near and far, working in all mediums. Artist in residence programs will be offered to artists, providing them with long-term working studio space, experience in teaching, and exhibiting their work. Moreover, they hope to create a safe space for students to learn and grow locally and also develop international exchange programs here on Long Island. They envision a burgeoning group of artists and artisans creating an “Artists Row” here in the charming historic downtown Rocky Point which enriches the community, its residents, and participants of all ages on Long Island.
